People on the Sunshine Coast will soon have the opportunity have their say about issues affecting older people at four free public forums at Caloundra, Maleny, Maroochydore and Noosa/Tewantin. Hosted by Healthy Ageing Partnership (HAP) during Seniors Month in October, the forums aim to gather ideas and views from participants on how HAP can better serve older persons on the Sunshine Coast into the future.

HAP has been serving the needs of older people for more than 10 years and is undertaking a review of its goals and mission. They would therefore like to hear your ideas and views about this important subject.

At each forum there will be a short explanation about HAP and what the forums aim to achieve. Then there will be discussion, questions and structured activities to gather the ideas and views of participants, while having some fun, socialising and enjoying morning tea together.

Why would older people want to come along to the forums? Well, it is a great opportunity for older people to have a say and get involved in what HAP will look like in the future. HAP is there to serve you, you are why HAP exists, and you are in the best place to say what your needs are.

There will be one forum every week during Senior’s month, and they are FREE. All sessions are at RSLs and will run for two hours – 10am to 12 noon.

For more information about the forums please download the Healthy Ageing Forums Flyer here.
